





Hailie Effenheim & Avery Knickrehm-Hailie always tries her best on Amplify Story Maps. She has neat handwriting and uses complete sentences. Hailie always tries her best!
Avery is a team player. She gives helpful reminders to others about staying on task. She is a leader in our classroom.
Charli Bowman- She has been working hard on letter formation all week and her writing is looking beautiful!!
Josie Kilburg – Josie consistently completes all of her work and follows directions the first time. She is a wonderful example of responsibility and focus!
Colt Banowetz – Colt has been an active participant during class discussions this week and demonstrates strong leadership both inside and outside of the classroom. He sets a positive example for his peers!
Addison Denger: Addison was a leader in music last week by giving her best effort. During one of our activities, she led her side of the circle in chanting and keeping the beat without being asked, and helped us to move our game along so everyone could have a turn.
Reagan Rabe and Gabby Ralston: In music, I can look to both Gabby and Reagan to be eager and ready to follow directions at any time, no matter when the signal is given. They are always some of the first students to raise their hands, and are leaders by being great role models for the class.
Cal Cronkleton and Anja Holtz were leaders in three-year old preschool this week.
Cole Miller: Cole is very polite and has been making good choices since school has started. He works hard and always listens and follows directions the first time given.
Rhett Morris: Rhett is a very respectful student not only to adults, but also to his classmates. He is willing to work with anyone and always tries his best on anything he does.
Preston Cathelyn- Preston had a rough day this week- but chose to make some changes and has been ROCKING it since!! Good job, Preston!!
Carson Denger- He is always a great friend to others. He includes others in play and makes sure to take turns with toys that other his friends want to play with too. He is always curious and ready to learn as well as share his knowledge with others.
Dehlia Delagardelle- She is getting really good about asking friends to play with as well as asking if she can join a group. She listens intently to our stories and even raises her hand to answer questions. She is really working hard at communicating!
Shout out to Mila Stone and Brailey Bowman for listening and following directions, being kind to friends and always doing their best no matter the task given! Keep it up girls!
Taryn Bowman & Macie Wimmer- Both have made a lot of great choices this week. They do it in such a quiet way (that sometimes you don't even notice). They just do what needs to be done. So this shout out is for them!
Krystin Dontje and Owein Post- Both students helped out two other students that didn't have everything they needed. They shared with them to make sure all had a good experience.
Callan McDermott- He is always willing to help a friend in need and share his toys. Joe Cavanagh- He shares his toys and is a really great helper.
Casey Frahm and Ernest Feeler-They have been excellent at following directions, showing strong leadership, and bringing so much positive energy and excitement to our classroom each day!
Chloe McClain, Jaycee Cavanagh, and Cletus Banowetz- These three have done a wonderful job with demonstrating Habit #1 - Being Proactive. They have their materials out, ready to go for each subject that we learn. They are great role models for their peers! Keep up the great work!

Recognizing our standout students for this week who were caught being proactive and making good choices:
Mila Doubek – Mila does a wonderful job listening and following directions. Her kindness truly shines, especially at recess where she includes students of all ages and makes sure no one feels left out. Keep being an amazing role model, Mila!
Liam Robles – Liam is off to a fantastic start in 3rd grade! He listens carefully, follows directions, and consistently makes thoughtful, proactive choices. Keep it up, Liam!
Harrison Feeler- He is always willing and eager to lend a hand in any way he can. In both music and band, he is always ready to learn. During the first week of school during a new activity in music, he was our first volunteer to lead the group with our new song. In band, he is always attentive and gives his best effort, helping us to have more time for playing by diligently helping to pack up chairs and stands at the end of class.
Ava Brown & Brecken Lundin have been 1st grade leaders. They stay on task and follow directions.
Lincoln Irwin- His "can do attitude" sets him up for success...he is ready, willing and able to tackle the task at hand
Dekker Morris- He is very resourceful, makes good choices when he needs to find something out
Beckett Roe, Addison Denger, and Jovie Frahm demonstrate Habit #1: Be Proactive! They have been awesome helpers in our classroom! Cleaning up toys, following directions right away, and staying on task. They set such a great example for their friends, and we’re so proud of them!
Tanner Usher, Krystin Dontje and Andrew Yarolem- They have been working hard to ace math assessments. They used several strategies and took their time to make sure to show what they knew in the area of math.
Tysen McAndrew- He is always listening and paying attention. He raises his hand politely to participate in class. He works hard during work time.
Kinsley Kemp- She is a good role model for what work time should look like and sound like. She takes care of herself and does what she needs to do. She's a great role model!
In Third Grade, Brody Bowman, Trace Flagel, Cato Irwin and Charli Postell- reading out loud during Amplify Knowledge time and working on their fluency.
Hailee Frahm- She cares for her friends and supports them when they are sad.
Maggie Stone- She follows directions the first time and is a great listener during learning times.
Odin Ingersoll- He is consistently making good choices in the classroom as well as with his peers. He is also able to notice when he makes a bad choice and has been correcting these choices on his own without a redirection from a teacher.
Letti Pape- She is always using good manners and willing to include others. If she has a problem she is always ready to work it out with a friend. She is always participating during morning meetings and story time while also remembering to raise her hand and wait patiently for her turn.
Noah Marshall and Grady Spain- They have done a wonderful job demonstrating habit #1 - Being Proactive! They choose to do the right thing by following directions and being responsible students throughout our school. They are role models to their peers and other students. Keep up the great work Noah and Grady!
Blake Doubek is always a great helper and models good choices for her peers.













Drivers will be contacting parents today with pick up times for bus routes.
For the drive in road stop, please have students there by 7:30am. They should be dropped off at this stop at 3:35pm (1:35pm on early out days).
For students utilizing the Elwood bus stop (1288 182nd Ave), they need to be there by 7:20am and will be dropped off at 3:55pm (1:55pm on early out days).
For any whole grade sharing 7-12 students utilizing the shuttle to Maquoketa, please be at Delwood before 7:45am. The bus will depart from Delwood at 7:45am.
Please be patient during the first week of school as routes may take a little longer. Thank you!



Join us tomorrow for our first ever Transitional Kindergarten Open House! We are so excited to be offering this to families in our district. Ms. Eden and Mrs. Rabe will be welcoming our TK students and answering any questions that families may have. Students can see their new classroom and meet their teacher prior to our Back to School Open House next Wednesday. We hope you join us!

Our PTO has been working tirelessly over the past year to raise funds for our new playground project. They have raised $32,000 this past year, thanks in huge part to community fundraisers and donations. We appreciate everyone's willingness to be a part of this amazing project for our kids!
