
Mrs. Kleinsmith's kindergarten class made stone soup. Once it was done cooking, they sampled it and by the looks on their faces, it must have been delicious!

First grade students have enjoyed some time outdoors the past couple of weeks developing their skills of striking a stationary object with short and long handled implements in PE.





Have you signed up for parent-teacher conferences yet? Conferences will be held on Wednesday, October 20th and Thursday, October 21st. Emails and notes were sent out last week with directions on how to sign up for conferences. If you have any questions or need help scheduling, please call the office at 563-674-4164.


Just a reminder...order forms for PTO's Prep, Freeze, Cook fundraiser are due this Friday, October 15th. Order forms can be turned into the office.



We love when parents come to visit - especially when they drive something as cool as a semi! A parent of one of Ms. Cathy's students stopped by and told students a little about her job. Our students then had the opportunity to climb up into the cab of the semi. Thank you for visiting, Sue!

Fourth grade students in Mrs. LaMar's class created murals representing Native American life in different regions of North America in social studies.





Mrs. Eberhart's second grade class took advantage of this dreary day and enjoyed reading by flashlight!

In guidance over the last couple of weeks, fourth, fifth and sixth grade students have been getting to teach their classmates about something that they really enjoy doing or that is important to them. This is to show that each classmate is important, and they get to learn something from each other to make everyone feel important! Here are some pictures from our fourth grade classrooms!





Fourth grade students in Miss Durkop’s class did a hands-on experiment in science while learning about speed and energy.





Jess Wagner from the Hurstville Interpretive Center visited Mrs. Eberhart's second grade classroom this week to teach students about the migration of monarch butterflies. Students then got to help tag and release the butterflies.





Mrs. Kieffer's third grade class has used Lego vocabulary and a "Brain Dump" strategy as part of their learning this year!





Our second and third grade classes worked on a STEM project together after reading the book "A Fine, Fine School." Students had to create a swing set for the main character's little brother, as an activity he would learn outside of school.




Fifth graders in Mrs. Maher's class experimented with separating mixtures in Science.



First graders have been working hard and their smiles tell us they are also having some fun!
